Wow what a fun story!You need to read all five volumes to understand the whole story, you'll be glad you did.
From the bad days of the Great War's to a hidden Cave under a lake in present day Nevada Sylvan, male, becomes Syl, female, and does her best to keep her discoveries under control in spite of a government that wants to miss-use it. Thanks to a natural disaster the government plan is washed away but we are left with an opening for a follow up series.
An Old Man turns himself into a pseudo-clone of the daughter of his friends then the story begins. What follows includes too many accidents, mistakes and misadventures in Genetics to list. You will have to read the series to get them all. Are they logical or even believable? Probably not but they are still FUN to read.
Ok this is not a totally Fact Based story but is loosely sprinkled with Pseudo-Science that makes it flow as long as the reader keeps their Fun-Gene turned on.
Perhaps David was doing a little bit of the Colorado Loco Weed when he wrote this, or not. ;-)
